Sergio Degener
holds a degree in Environmental Engineering (MSc). He has worked in the field of CDM and Emission Trading Schemes since 2006. From 2007-2009 he was employed as Regional Manager for Latin America and Lead Auditor for CDM/GS projects at TÜV-SÜD, Munich, Germany. Sergio is a freelance consultant and CDM/GS auditor since 2009. He has developed also many large and small scale “stand alone” CDM projects in Latin America and works as external expert for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as project technical reviewer under existing tools and methodologies. He is currently working also as verification expert for the energy and waste projects of the World Bank Carbon Finance Unit and prepared the first verification of a Composting Programme in 8 cities of Uganda. He was also involved in the validation of an energy project in Nigeria and a forestry project in Ghana and is a member of verico SCE since June 2014. Sergio is currently working in energy and sustainable biofuel audits in Europe. Furthermore, he is appointed verico auditor under EU-ETS, ISO14064-1, ISO14064-2 and ISO50001.
